Back from the Dead
Well, today marks the beginning of the summer semester. My buddies flew back to New York yesterday, my wife’s still in Florida grading AP exams, and I’ve got work from 9 am to 7:30 p.m. with a short break in the middle.
I’ve been completely disconnected from the blogosphere for about two weeks now, but that will be quickly remedied. I expect to be back on a regular update schedule starting today.
On a more WoW-related subject, we did decide to transfer servers. I spoke to the guild leader and while my mind wasn’t blown away with opportunities, she did say she still wanted to start more raids but didn’t have enough people. Since I’m bringing four, hopefully that’ll get us closer to starting the new runs.
I moved my paladin instead of Stubborn upon learning that the name was already taken. Stubborn would have had to be Stuborn or some other misspelled derivation of the word. Unacceptable. So I moved Paladi (yes, that’s my paladin’s name) instead. Paladi has been Paladi on three servers now; it’s surprising that the name hasn’t been taken.
Once again I run into the problem of overlap. It seems of the few people in the guild who definitely want to start the new raid there are already a tank and a healer. My buddy is also a tank; my wife also a healer. I guess I’ll be dpsing poorly instead of healing or tanking, then. I simply cannot believe how many tanks and healers there are in the places I go when there’s never any around when I actually want to dps. Don’t get me wrong; I’m glad to have the support of the guild, but it seems I’ll be pigeonholed again. Why not my wife or buddy? Well, because my buddy’s a jerk (not really, but he wasn’t able to tank in the last guild and that created ALL SORTS of problems) and I’m not going to force my wife into doing something she doesn’t want to.
At any rate, it’s a slow process, coming back to life, and I need to be reading more patch notes and other blogs before I get into any serious topics. I’ll get on that today.
